John Pearson knows more about the Krays than anyone alive. Legend, starring Tom Hardy, was based on his book The Profession of Violence and it was Pearson who exposed the Boothby connection in 1994. In 1967 the twins asked Pearson to write their biography. He remained a confidant of the family and the brothers throughout their trial and prison years.

Now Pearson revisits the twins' criminal past and lays bare the truth behind the legend. Drawing upon a mass of first-hand interviews and private information he was unable to use while the Krays were still alive, he finally recounts the chilling untold story of the Kray twins.

John Pearson is also the author of All the Money in the World (previously titled Painfully Rich), now a major motion picture directed by Ridley Scott film and starring Michelle Williams, Mark Wahlberg and Christopher Plumber (nominated for the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor).
The Cult of Violence eBook John Pearson
Pearson's personal observations and keen analysis of the Kray Twins gives valuable insight beyond simply providing a catalogue of their crimes. The careful research and almost anthropological unearthing of their complex psyches as well as their relationships with many of the characters in their lives gives meat to a story that at its bare bones would no longer be as awe inspiring in the present day, when pitted against the organized crime & reigns of terror meted out on East End equivalents the world over.Product details

The Cult of Violence eBook John Pearson Reviews
It's clear the author had excellent access and deep knowledge of the subjects but the writing seemed to be somewhat disjointed re timelines and topics which spoiled the reading experience.
I had read this book many years ago and could not put it down. I bought it for my mother and she was the same.
